Welcome to the Bay Area News Group (Mercury News & East Bay Times) girls athlete of the week poll.

For the entire academic year, we will provide a list of candidates who stood out over the previous week and allow you, the reader, to vote for the winner.

This week, we consider performances from Jan. 10-16.

Polls close at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

On to the nominees:

Morgan Cheli, Mitty basketball: The 6-2 sophomore guard had 37 points, 19 rebounds in three double-digit wins over WCAL opponents.Had double-double (18 points, 11 boards) vs. Sacred Heart Cathedral. Has offer from Cal. Rated one of top five soph recruits in Bay Area by NorCalPreps.  

Ally Co, Notre Dame-Belmont basketball: Junior transfer from Half Moon Bay totaled 27 points including five 3-pointers in two WBAL Foothill wins. Had 13 points and four assists vs. The King’s Academy, then 14 points, seven rebounds and four steals against Menlo. 

Nia Coleman, Monte Vista basketball: The 5-9 junior had 34 points, 25 rebounds, 20 assists, 17 steals in three EBAL wins that improved overall record to 11-3. Had double-double with 11 boards, 10 assists vs. California. Point guard averaging 15.1 ppg. Leads team in rebounds, assists, steals. 

Tegan Gaines, Northgate basketball: Senior point guard had a pair of double-doubles in wins over Clayton Valley Charter and Maria Carrillo. Scored 20 points and had 21 rebounds vs. CVC, then went for 10 points and 13 boards vs. Carrillo. Elle Ladine, Pinewood basketball: Four-star recruit (ESPN) amassed 41 points and 29 rebounds in two easy wins. Leads team in scoring (21.1 ppg), rebounds (13.0), assists and steals. The 5-11 guard is rated the No. 2 senior girls basketball player in Bay Area by ESPN. Going to Washington.

Natalie Pasco, San Ramon Valley basketball: Boise State-bound guard poured in 27 points vs. California, and had 16 points and eight rebounds against Dougherty Valley. The 5-10 senior has scored over 1,000 points in her career at SRV, which is 12-2 this season. 

Amalie Pianim, Burlingame soccer: Senior forward recorded a hat trick in a 5-0 victory over Sequoia as Panthers improved to 8-1. The four-star recruit (TopDrawerSoccer) will play at Stanford next season.

Paige Pineda Aliamus, Washington-Fremont soccer: Junior forward totaled 10 goals and two assists in one-sided victories over Irvington and Mission San Jose. A team captain for the 7-1-1 Huskies, she has 37 goals this season.

Morgan Ross, Head-Royce basketball: Freshman scored 24 points, had 10 rebounds and six assists in one-sided win over Athenian. She leads Jayhawks with 18.6 points and 12.0 rebounds per game. Also team-leader in assists. 

Alessandra Towle, Las Lomas soccer: Senior forward scored her team’s only goal in a 1-1 tie with Campolindo as both teams remained unbeaten. The Knights’ scoring leader, she will continue playing soccer next season at St. Mary’s College.
